Battle Creek Forest Heroes Team Gathering Steam

The Forest Heroes campaign is off to a great start in Battle Creek, Michigan. Last Wednesday, twenty volunteers showed up for this core organizing group meeting — a wildly successful turnout. The Michiganders showed up to tell Kellogg’s, which is headquartered in Battle Creek, to end its partnership with Wilmar International unless the palm oil giant stops laying waste to vast swaths of South Asian rainforest, and threatening countless species, including the critically endangered Sumatran tiger.

“People in Battle Creek and across Michigan are excited to learn that they are uniquely positioned to have an important impact in saving rainforests and endangered species on the other side of the world,” said Kran-Annexstein.  “Its been really inspiring to see how eager people are to get involved.”

Below the jump are some photos from the gathering, where these core volunteers also set out to plan for this week’s even larger community campaign kickoff.  Special thanks to Arcadia Brewing Company for hosting the get-together.
